About this wine
Le Fou Pinot Noir Le Fou - Translates to the Mad Man as it was thought that only a mad man would attempt to produce a perfect Pinot Noir in Southern France, however, we think that Sam Bailey and Guillaume Letang did a particularly good job with this one. Fuller than Pinot Noir from Burgundy, it has a warm, rich nose with aromas of black cherry compote.
The palate is nicely balanced with an exciting, savoury streak provided by ripe, tasty tannins. No oak aging has taken place to try and keep these wines as true as possible.
Food match
Served slightly chilled Le Fou is lovely with grilled lamb, cold meats, wild mushroom risotto, or home-baked ham.
