About this wine
Vineyard
Traminer blocks are selected on their lifted spicy musk and rose petal flavours to combine with the floral and citrus flavour offerings of the selected Rieslings
Viticulture
Higher than average rainfall during winter and at flowering lead to a high Downy Mildew disease period which resulted in a crop reduction of around 35%. A cooler than usual ripening period & no rain during spring and summer meant there was no more disease pressure and fruit was picked at optimum ripeness. This was the latest harvest on record beginning 4 weeks later than normal.
Vinification
A specialised yeast strain isolated by Institut Oenologique de Champagne is employed to highlight the varietal characteristics of the Traminer. Completed a healthy 10-14 day ferment in stainless steel.
Food Pairing
These styles have a light fruitiness that match well with Asian and Spicy Foods - chicken curry; pad thai: Soft Cream Cheese - Brie, Camembert or Feta
